I thought William Jefferson Clinton was a pretty good President. But the conduct of President and Senator Clinton this past week disgusts me and removed whatever goodwill I ever held for him. The uglyweird neurotic Clinton siamese twins are b-a-ack. If there is one Democratic candidate who can energized the evilly corrupt Republic smear machine and keep those assholes in the White House, it is Hillary Rodham Clinton. A more polarizing choice is simply not possible.
"Make Obama 'the nigger candidate' and we can clean up!" Because if they can paint him like that, they are perfectly willing to forfeit South Carolina where Democrats are mostly black and the state as a whole votes Republican because they don't really give a shit about the rural South anyway, they only have to pretend to. It's just a chip in a no-rules poker game. They are shrewd enough to know there are still vast veins of racist ore to be mined for delegates in New England, California, and the fly-over states. (See: Republican ultra-focus on the immigration issue)
Bill Clinton spewed feces at every turn in South Carolina, often campaigning alone while Hil was off to one of the Super Tuesday states. It was a finely calculated political hack job (remember, Bill is the slickest politician since Nixon who channelled his very own Karl Rove in James Carville). The hope of a black man becoming President is a "fairy tale." "Well, Obama ran a good race (no pun intended? hmm) just like Jessie Jackson did in 1984 and 1988." Go ahead and jab that finger at the press, Bill ... it always reminds intelligent voters of your earlier performance in "I ... did ... not ... have ... sex, with that woman, Miss Lewinski."
I think Senator Clinton takes a plurality of the Super Tuesday votes and delegates, while Obama continues to win in heavily Southern Black states like Alabama and Georgia due to the combination of a solid black voting bloc (80% of black women voted for him in South Carolina) and the cross-over among thinking white voters and independents (Democratic turnout was TWICE what it was in the Republican South Carolina primary a week earlier in a heavily Republican state, showing independents energized by the Dem battle of ideals versus smear politics as usual). Senator Edwards cleaned up with white men, but still came in a solid third with 18%. Winning delegates but nothing else so far.
The best I see to hope for is a brokered Democratic Convention this Summer in Denver and that Senator Edwards throws his support to Obama in exchange for another Vice Presidential spot on the ticket. I consider Edwards to be a smart politician who knows Clinton is the only person on earth who is quite capable of blowing the third consecutive "sure thing" Presidential election for the Democratic Party.
Sheesh.
